Biography

Chad Lee-Stronach is an Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellow at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society, at Stanford University (in partnership with Apple University), working on algorithmic fairness and bias in automated systems.

He received his PhD from the Australian National University in July 2019 (Supervisors: Seth Lazar and Alan Hájek). His dissertation, 'Morality Under Risk', uses formal decision theory to defend absolutist moral theories against the charge that they cannot give adequate guidance in risky situations.

In 2015, He won the Australian National University's College of Arts and Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Tutoring. In 2016, He was one of three recipients university-wide of a Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Education in the same category.
