I would love to become a professor. The constant learning involved in conducting research attracts me, and I think I would make a very happy teacher.

I have most enjoyed meeting wonderful friends and mentors.

In high school, I spent some time studying snow and ice on Greenland and in the Arctic.

The research project that I'm working on is one of the most interesting projects I have ever done. I already learned so much in the two weeks. I am also interested in archaeological research and expanding my knowledge on the history of Japanese colonialism.
 
What are your aspirations for your future?
I want to make a change in the society we live in through the knowledge I am earning through Stanford. Stanford offers education that allows someone to grow in pathways that they could never think of.
 
What do you like most about Stanford?

I love the community. Stanford has such a unique and loving community, in which always astounds me. I love the people here because of their kindness and openness with one another.

This summer, I'm excited about researching a period of time in Egypt that I've learned almost nothing about, having studied ancient and modern Egypt but nothing in between. Beyond that, I'm fascinated with the evolution of religion in the Middle East and beyond, with refugee rights, and with women's rights in the Middle East and North Africa.
 
Have you studied abroad? If so, where?
I will be studying abroad on a non-Stanford program in Jerusalem in the fall.
 
What are your aspirations for your future?
After college, I hope to do refugee and conflict resolution work in the Middle East, and eventually go into international human rights law.

I love that people are constantly growing and changing at Stanford, and are always moving forward.

What are your aspirations for your future?
Although I don't know what the future holds, in my more immediate future I hope to conduct my own research project, write an honors thesis, and work at a think tank.
 
What do you like most about Stanford?
 The more time I spend at Stanford, the more I realize the immense number of opportunities that the university provides for its students. More specifically, I appreciate the way in which the International Relations and Political Science Departments support their students by providing them with countless research opportunities and one-on-one student-specific advising.

I was in a Gatorade commercial as a kid with my soccer team.

I am passionate about immigration and refugee policy. It's important to understand both the historical context of such policies as well as the current political environment. I hope to find tactics to provide opportunity and safety for those in need.

Yes, in Santiago, Chile.
 
What are your aspirations for your future?
I am a rising senior and have been planning out an honors thesis within the Ethics in Society program. I want to examine the overlap between refugee and immigration policy. Immediately after graduation, I would like to work for a nonprofit or investigative journalism outlet before returning to school to pursue a law degree. It's important to help disadvantaged groups gain political autonomy. I hope to do so through writing and legal advocacy.
 
What do you like most about Stanford?

More than intellectual vitality, Stanford students have a desire to better not only themselves but also their communities. Having been granted access to a myriad of educational opportunities, they seek to share their success.

Every day at Stanford harnesses a very vibrant energy. When I first started here, I was somewhat intimidated by this atmosphere, but since then I have integrated myself to the dynamic lifestyle and the numerous opportunities that being a member of the Stanford community provides. There's never a dull day, even on dull days.

A fun fact about yourself

Despite my major and my future plans being devoted to IR, my minor (and my secondary passion) is chemistry; I work as a chem tutor and I just joined Stanford's chemistry fraternity, Alpha Chi Sigma, this past spring quarter.
